An early autumn day at sea with dolphin fish and tuna

At last! After a very difficult couple of months with gale and wind warning and big seas, we had a very nice week with calm sea and clear skies. That gave us the opportunity to head out to the FADs chasing dolphin fish, also known as mahi mahi.
This time we decided to head north to the Botany Bay FADs off Sydney. The furthest one is about 15 nautical miles from our base at Port Hacking. It was interesting to watch the current out there, racing to the south at three knots, it ran like a river! The catch rate was good and we also hooked up some good size striped tuna.
