Beautiful sunrise, great day – until the southerly struck!

Look at the sunrise! Yes it was a very nice morning, a great team and good fishing.  As you can see in the picture we ended up with a box of mixed reef and pelagic fish. And Cassie’s 47-centimeter snapper. Other than Watson’s Leaping Bonito, coming down from Queensland, that was the fish of the day.

The forecast was good with an expected southerly change coming in around midday. It struck a bit early around 11:00 and was very strong down the coast, up to 30 + knots.  No problem for us as we were heading home and were inside Port Hacking and back at the wharf at 12:00.
