After some recent tough sea conditions we had a nice day today, trolling off-shore and fishing reefs along the Royal National Park.

Out at the secret FAD we found lots of yellowtail king fish, unfortunately all undersize and returned to grow. On the reef at Werrong Beach it was good until the hungry mutton birds arrived! So when we are catching more birds than fish we just give up and move on.

And as we were heading north and noticing big schools of bait fish, Chris from Mudgee hooked up the fish of the day! As you can see in the picture, it was a 4.7 kilo tuna. It was close to spooling the reel as it worked hard to run away. But with backing up the boat and recovering the line the fish was finally landed. Excellent team work guys.
