Middle Ground off Cronulla – this is what it looks like!
As you may know, Middle Ground is one of our favourite fishing spots. The sand bottom around the Ground is about 32 to 34 meters and the reef is made up of rocks and gravel in about 29 to 30 meters with narrow sand gullies. As you can see in Steve’s picture it can be a difficult place to anchor if you are dragging the pick under a rock edge. Steve is a member of Port Hacking Divers.

It is also an excellent location to pick up baitfish, most of the time we find big schools of mackerel in about 10 to 15 meters.
