This is why we didn’t go offshore fishing last weekend

Bad luck guys that we had to cancel and reschedule all sea related activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But with a forecast like below we have no choice. In fact , with a gale warning, it is standard in the industry to call off events like fishing tournaments and competitions. Here is the warning:

Gale warning for Friday for Illawarra Coastal Waters

Winds: Southwesterly 25 to 30 knots increasing to 30 to 40 knots in the middle of the day.

Seas: 3 to 5 metres.

Swell: Easterly around 1 metre, tending southerly 3 to 4 metres during the morning.

Weather: The chance of thunderstorms.

Caution: Large swells breaking dangerously close inshore.

And when you look at the actual sea conditions as in the screen shot, just stay at home!
