It is close to Christmas and we celebrated early with a nice weekend and some good fish coming onboard
After a strong wind warning on Friday the 13th December with a 29 knot southerly wind, rough seas and a cancelled event, the sea settled down to a nice Saturday and beautiful Sunday. After starting with a trolling session and pulling in kingfish, we headed out to Middle Ground for reef fishing with a mix of reef species hauled in. But the highlight of both days were our favourite fish, i.e. dolphin fish, also known as mahi mahi in the US or dorado in Spain and South America. As you can see in the picture, Carolina from Sweden hooked up a nice dolphin fish at our secret FAD, Kris did well with the striped tuna, and Nick enjoyed the sport fishing action with yellowtail kingfish. And Pete scored a very nice 63 cm dolphin fish on the Sunday, taking it to a Japanese restaurant for dinner.
