Ian scored the fish or the day, a 60 cm and 2.5 kilo beautiful snapper. Well done!

Mutton birds, mutton birds everywhere. They are a disaster for Fishos!

But you have to feel sorry for the little buggers, also known as shearwater. They are starving, coming from the north, looking for food and are doing anything for a feed. As the fisherman or fisher woman onboard drops the bait to the bottom with our paternoster rig, they chase it down to 5 – 6 metres under the boat, sometimes get hooked up so we have to carefully bring them in and release.

But despite the problems with the mutton birds, the team did really well with a box full of reef fish. We had perfect sea conditions and Ian scored the fish or the day, a 60 cm and 2.5 kilo beautiful snapper.  Well done!
